Armstrong Fire is a authorized distributor of a new U.S. Forest Service Approved liquid concentrate, Class A firefighting gel trade named Thermo-Gel® 200L. Thermo Technologies, LLC states that this new product, which can be educted into the water stream of a fire or garden hose, will provide the firefighter and the home owner with an important new tool and could revolutionize the way wildland fires are being fought. Thermo-Gel® utilizes super absorbent polymer technology that encapsulates water, forming a water gel barrier that can be used for a variety of firefighting applications, such as direct fire suppression, house and structure protection, wet lines, controlled burns and mop up.

Thermo-Gel® is highly effective in fighting active fires, wild land fires,  prescribed  burns,  urban interface  fires,  aviation applications, and in the protection of all types of structures from  homes  to  commercial  and  industrial  investments. Thermo-Gel® is a gel concentrate  which  when  added  to water  transforms  it  into  a  fire  preventing  and  heat absorbing Class A fire retardant  gel. Thermo-Gel® provides the fire fighting industry with a product  that  can  be  used  for  suppression,  structure protection, exposure protection, defensible perimeters and wet lines. Thermo-Gel® meets NFPA 1150 Standard and is U.S. Forest Service Approved.

Thermo-Gel® 200L is non-toxic to vegetation and can be applied to create an effective wet line that will stop the fire in its tracks. After the fire has been suppressed, the water gel will naturally degrade from exposure to sunlight.
